Why this list exists
Every year we sit down with parents in Denver, Boston, Chicago, and Miami and hear the same worry: 'How do I even find the right French university from over here?' The truth is that only about a dozen French schools consistently combine English-taught tracks, Anglo-American student support, strong recognition back in the U.S., and welcoming visa paperwork. This is our curated shortlist.
Business & management
HEC Paris, ESSEC, EM Lyon, Audencia, and Sciences Po lead here. Their programs are almost entirely English-taught at the international undergraduate level and offer strong return-to-U.S. recruiting through campuses in New York, Boston, and San Francisco.
Engineering & computer science
École Polytechnique's bachelor's, Grenoble INP, Bordeaux INP, and Université Côte d'Azur all offer English-taught computer science and engineering tracks. Polytechnique's bachelor's is the tightest and most competitive; UCA's Nice campus is the best value.
Humanities, social sciences, and the arts
Sorbonne Université, Sciences Po, Paris-Dauphine PSL, and Strasbourg all take American students in solid numbers. IESA Paris is the boutique choice for fashion, art history, and cultural management.
